Dalwhinnie Cabernet Sauvignon 2014
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Blends »
Colour: Very dark purple-black.
Bouquet: Varietal perfume taking in cedar cigar box, freshly cut lawn, mint and all-spice.
Palate: Medium weight with great balance and poise. The dark berry fruits are in perfect harmony with the grainy tannins and fresh acidity. The finish is long and graceful.
Winemaker’s comments: I really like this Cabernet a lot; it reminds me of the great 2004. I believe it to be better than the 2007, more varietal and a better balance of tannins. Twenty nine years is a long time to be producing a Bordeaux blend and this one is up there with the best, an outstanding win.
