2023 D.M.L. Pinot Noir Mornington Peninsula – D’Anna Middleton Lewis (DML VIN) is a partnership between the D’Anna family (Hoddles Creek), Sam Middleton (Mount Mary) and Jordan Lewis. It focuses on single site regional Pinot Noir with the first vintage being released in June 2019.
Merricks (leased and managed by DML for the past two years) and Balnarring. Red cherry, spiced poached strawberry, mint, a little biscuit oak, dried rose perfume. It’s medium-bodied, gently sappy, has some earthy/mulchy character, but also a core of juicy and fragrant red fruits, a light powdery almost peppery grip to tannin, with a finish that’s firm and a little stalky, but also quite energetic and long.
