Weathercraft's second bottling of its '22 chardonnay spends extended time in 25% new French oak, rendering a beautifully composed wine with more plushness, all creamy and nutty with notes of crème fraîche, washed rind cheese and a hazelnut mealiness. It's decadent and delicious yet maintains good pace thanks to its live wire of acidity. The fruit profile traverses pools of citrus to white stone fruit, with some spiced pear and apricot nectar between. A lovely wine. Decant and ponder its evolution as it opens.
